Description

On a job with overhead power lines on the risk assessment, an ordinary wellington gives you no electrical protection. The Skellerup Quatro Dielectric Thermal boots are Class 2 under EN 50321:2018. Every boot is proof tested at 20kV for three minutes after it is made, and withstand tested to 30kV.

They are knee height and handmade from natural rubber, with a steel toe cap and a multi layer insulated lining comfort tested to minus 50°C. The fit locks in the ankle to stop the heel slipping, and the removable PoliYou® innersole gives heel and arch support.

  • EN 50321 Class 2: proof tested at 20kV, withstand tested to 30kV
  • ISO 20345 safety boot: SB, E, HRO, FO
  • Arc flash tested at 40 cal/cm² to ASTM F2621
  • Serial numbered for your PPE register
  • UK men's sizes 9 to 11, high visibility yellow

Dielectric boots insulate your feet from the ground, up to their Class 2 rating, but they are not a reason to work closer to a line than your risk assessment allows. For hands, pair them with the Tilsatec Pulse Class 2 gloves. Not sure they suit your work? Talk to our team before you order.

RECENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does Class 2 mean on dielectric boots?

Class 2 is the electrical class under EN 50321:2018, the standard for electrically insulating footwear. Every Quatro dielectric boot is proof tested at 20kV for three minutes after it is made, and withstand tested to 30kV. Your risk assessment should set the class you need, so check it before you order. For the same class in hand protection, see the Tilsatec Pulse Class 2 gloves.

Do these boots make it safe to work near overhead power lines?

No boot does that on its own. Dielectric boots insulate your feet from the ground up to their Class 2 rating, but they do not make it safe to work closer to a line than your risk assessment allows. Plan the job first, keep your clearance, and read our guidance for window cleaners and overhead power lines before working anywhere near a line.

What sizes are the boots available in?

UK sizes 9, 10 and 11, each sold as one pair. The boots are built on larger than standard lasts to allow for thick socks, so if you are between sizes, or wearing standard socks, size down one UK size from your normal shoe size. Use your foot length as the main guide: 278mm for a 9, 285mm for a 10 and 294mm for an 11. The full size guide is in the Product Specifications tab. If you are still not sure, talk to our team first.

Are the boots warm enough for winter work?

Yes. The leg has a multi layer insulated lining, comfort tested down to minus 50°C, and the PoliYou® innersole adds heel and arch support. The innersoles are removable.

Are these proper safety boots as well as dielectric boots?

Yes. As well as the Class 2 dielectric rating they carry ISO 20345 safety marks SB, E, HRO and FO. That covers a steel toe cap, an energy absorbing heel, a heat resistant outsole and resistance to fuel oil.

What is the serial number on each boot for?

Every boot carries its own traceable serial number. It lets you log each pair in a PPE register, track when it was issued and tested, and take a specific pair out of use if it is damaged.
