Traditional Starter Kits

There is no single best kit, because the right one depends on the glass you clean most. For domestic rounds and shopfronts, a mid size squeegee with a matching washer covers nearly everything. For interior work in offices a shorter channel is easier in tight reveals. The Unger ErgoTec Ninja Starter Kit is one of the sets built around that pattern.

Traditional window cleaning means washing glass by hand with a squeegee, an applicator and a cloth, using detergent and mains water. It is the method that predates water fed poles, and it still suits ground floor glass, interiors, and detailed work around frames and leading. Water fed cleaning replaced it for upper floors rather than for everything. The Trad-Man Traditional Kits are built for that way of working.

They do different jobs. A traditional kit cleans what you can reach from the ground or a ladder, costs less to start with, and gives close control on detailed glass. A water fed pole cleans upper floors from ground level and takes the ladder out of the job, which is the safety case most rounds are built on now. Plenty of cleaners carry both. With an extension pole on the squeegee you will reach first floor glass from the ground on many houses, and higher from a ladder where the site allows it. Past that the angle works against you, the pole flexes, and you lose sight of what you are doing. That is the point where a water fed pole becomes the tool for the job, though high reach equipment covers the middle ground.

Yes, and they are the parts you replace most often. A rubber dulls with use and starts leaving lines across the glass, and a washer sleeve stops holding water once the pile flattens. Both are stocked separately, so a kit stays in service for years rather than being replaced whole.
