Description
Rubber is the thing you get through fastest and the thing most likely to be ruined before you have used it. Buy singles and they turn up rolled in a bag with a kink you can never quite flatten out. Buy a box and it lives loose in the van until the ends have curled and the edges are nicked. This is 24 lengths in a case that deals with the second half of that.
The rubber is a high profile soft grade. Soft stays pliable when it is cold and conforms to the glass at lower pressure, so it closes cleanly behind the blade instead of chattering or leaving a fine line you have to go back over. It is made, cut and packed in Denmark.
The case is the part that earns its keep. It is a reusable HDPE tube with a twist lock, and it adjusts in length, so as you work through the pack you shorten it and the rest stop sliding about. The rubber stays flat and straight, which is the whole point, and the case goes back in the van rather than in the bin.
- 24 lengths of 14 inch (35cm): the consumable you get through fastest, bought properly.
- High profile soft grade: closes at lower pressure and stays pliable in the cold.
- Adjustable HDPE case: the twist lock shortens it as the pack goes down, so nothing rattles about.
- Tested against 18 channels: Ettore, Unger, Pulex, Moerman, Steccone, Wagtail and LTWC.
- Made in Denmark: rubber, cutting and packing. The case is made in Germany.
Worth knowing: a soft compound generally wears faster than a hard one. If you work in consistently hot weather, or on rough glass that eats rubber, a hard grade will last longer at the cost of wanting more pressure to close. For most UK work through most of the year, soft is the one.
