FaceLift® Phantom Pole | User Guide
The Phantom pole will arrive bare. To prepare it for usage, you will need to connect your chosen brush head, an angle adapter, and an appropriate hose connector to allow it to connect to your delivery system. If bought without the Precision Angle Neck, you will need to push the pole hose through the pole and pole tip, and then connect the pole tip to your angle adjustor of choice.
During storage and transit, the clamps may unfasten slightly from the pole, please check each before using the pole. The clamp will have a nyloc nut & bolt, fixing the clamp to the section and a nut/ bolt configuration holding the lever in place. Using a 4mm Allen key (provided), the nyloc nut & bolt can be twister a half turns at a time, until the clamp is securely fixed in place.
Using the Phantom Water Fed Pole
When extending the pole, use the gap in the clamp to watch for the overlap section (this is a small length, at the bottom of the pole section that is printed an alternative colour). When you can see this section, collapse the pole by a few inches then clamp. It is important to have this overlap area between sections for strength & rigidity.
When using the pole at sub-maximal heights, it is best practice to half extend each section rather than fully extend the top sections only. This will lengthen the life of the pole and stop excess forces being applied to the sections with the smallest diameters.
Maintaining Your Phantom Water Fed Pole
Cleaning & maintaining your pole is vital to prolong its life span. Failure to do so can cause excess wear and tear. This is especially important for Hi-Mod Phantom Poles due to the sections being thinner (and therefore lighter and more rigid!).
The pole should be taken apart and washed down regularly, at least once a week, though this may be required more often if working in a gritty/ sandy environment. The pole can be easily taken apart by loosening the clamps and removing the sections. Cleaning the hose can also limit the amount of grit that enters the inside of the pole sections. Clean the pole simply by rinsing & drying the internal and external of each section, including the clamps.
In addition to the above, the pole and clamps can be completely dismantled (using a 4mm Hex Key) cleaned and serviced. If you find the red TPU sleeve or black rubber base cap has worn away, this should be replaced to protect the pole sections.
Additionally, products such as our Dry-Film PTFE can help improve the life of the pole.
